The Alexander Cole Fernandez Legacy
Continuing Alex’s Golden Heart Through Service
In Loving Memory of Alex
Our family never expected to experience a loss this great. Alex, our beloved youngest son, was tragically taken from us at the age of 20 in a fatal motorcycle accident on June 3, 2024, while he was on his way to work.
Alex was just beginning to establish his way through life, but even in his young years, he was known for his golden heart and deep compassion for others. The sudden end to his life has left an unimaginable void, but his spirit of kindness continues to guide us.
Our Commitment: Carrying on Alex's Spirit of Giving
To honor Alex and keep his memory vibrant, his family is dedicated to transforming our grief into community action. We believe the best way to remember Alex is to live out the generosity he embodied.
As we move forward into 2025 and beyond, we are launching initiatives to carry on Alex’s legacy by:
Join Us in Service
We are committed to representing Alex as he would if he were still here with us. This website will serve as a hub for our activities, updates, and ways to get involved.
We always welcome any support you can provide, whether through volunteering your time or making a donation to help us fund these vital projects.
Thank you for assisting us in carrying on Alex's enduring spirit of giving.
With much love and gratitude,
Alex’s Family

Alex graduated from Red Mountain H.S. in Mesa, AZ. Class of 2022. Alex was attending college and doing dual credits while a junior and senior in high school. Once Alex graduated, he immediately continued working on his pre-requisites and pursuing a degree towards nursing. Alex attended Arizona State University, lived in the dorms while in the Barrett's Honor College. Pictured, Ivory and Alex. Ivory is Alex's BIG "baby" and didn't mind cleaning up for this photoshoot! Alex loved nature and animals of all sizes!

Alex looked forward to all holidays each year and took every chance he could to celebrate them. Pictured, Alex and his favorite kitty, Megumi. Megumi didn't mind being Royal for the photoshoot.
Our Foundation partnered with the City of Mesa, AZ, to create the "Look Twice Challenge". This challenge was created in honor of Alex and to Look Twice, Save a Life. Alex found joy in riding his motorcycle but braved the dangers on the roads. Motorcycles, cyclists and pedestrians can quickly be overlooked with a quick glance by a vehicle driver. Be aware, be attentive, be safe with intention.

Our last minute water drive went well and we were able to gather up 60 cases of water, 3 large bags of blankets/towels, several medical/first aide items and $45 in cash to donate to the people of Globe-Miami who experienced the loss with these floods. We are thankful for everyone who assisted us last minute in making this impact. Thank you.

If you are not aware, Globe, AZ experienced record rain and flooding on 9/25/25 and 9/26/25. These events caused devastating damage to homes, businesses and infrastructures. A state of emergency was declared for the Globe-Miami area. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and we will do what we can to assist!

We started a water donation drive to take to Globe, AZ to assist. We purchased 60 cases of water from a local warehouse and delivered them to the Chamber of Commerce for Globe-Miami. This was a small gesture but was greatly received since many residents were without water. We will continue to assist any way we can to help the residents get back on their feet. We will accept donations through mid-October directly for this cause.

For the month of September, our foundation partnered with Banner Children's Hospital to sponsor a toy drive and educational item drive. This drive will benefit the children who receive treatments at Banner Children's Hospital. Banner has a program where the treatment recipients can choose an item from the TOY CLOSET after each treatment, hard plan, PT plan, etc. What may seem like a small token to us, can be something incredibly important to a child or teenager. Our foundation Facebook page offered Amazon Wishlist's, ideas of donations and a link to make a PayPal donation to support the drive. Please assist us in making a big impact for the beautiful, strong and brave children.
Thank you to Banner, for allowing us to partner with you all in making this impact.

We're here to help.
We provide essential health and medical supplies to unhoused and low-income individuals who face barriers like lack of insurance, no transportation, or limited resources.

In August 2024, we were approved by ADOT for the Adopt a Highway program. Alex's "mile" is in Florence, AZ, mile marker 132-133. This location is on the 79 south, heading out of town right before the Florence Cemetary. The program requires us to clean both sides of the 79, picking up trash/debris and keeping this area looking good.
We completed our first cleanup in August. It was hard and is not fair we have to do this in Alex's memory but we are thankful we were able to get approved to do this. This is now our section and we will clean it up a couple times each year.

This was our 2nd roadside cleanup. Several family and friends showed up to help us keep Florence cleaner. 27 bags and 4 large piles of bulk trash!
Next one will be in May.

This was our 3rd roadside cleanup. We had a small crew this time but we were just as great! 14 bags and a couple piles of bulk trash. Keeping Florence clean!
Next one will be in September.

This was our 4th roadside cleanup. We have officially been a part of the program for 1 YEAR! It was extremely muddy after the rains we had but our team knocked it out and picked up everything we could. 22 bags and a couple piles of bulk trash.
Keeping Florence clean!
Next one will be in November.
